Perspectives on the Madrid Contemporary Art Fair (ARCO) to be held this week are the rosy sea. At a time when economic instability dominates almost all sectors, surprised and pleased. And is that the art world does not seem to affect the crisis last year auction houses sold more than ever. Emerging economies (China, Brazil, Russia, etc..) Allows industry move million outside the complicated economic situation in some European countries.
So do not miss the numbers being considered in this edition of Arc, which will be reserved for visitors 15 and 16, and open to the general public the weekend (17, 18 and 19 February). 150 galleries from 30 countries around the world gather to present their most innovative and risky.
ARCO this year will see some interesting developments: the organization has proposed to galleries elect one of their artists and make a special presentation (Featured Artist call it) will also be distributed through all the spaces occupied by the large works exhibition under the name Solo Objects. And even the kids will have their creative corner called Arcokids.
As in every edition, it has developed an interesting program to continue the celebration of art when the show closes, is the Arco After concerts, theater, film and installations in public spaces, festivals and other celebrations that will transfer the cultural flavor to the center Madrid.
Among the talks scheduled for those days, we recommend to "How to build a good collection", while between different booths we are struck by the originality Espacio Cultural El Tanque. In addition, this year presented a series of models of the architect Fernando Menis, who was responsible for 15 years to transform a former oil depot into a dynamic cultural use space.
