Tapa Tapa Opens the Doors on a Refurbished Locale

Gourmet 28/04/2010

Passeig de Gràcia's Tapa Tapa, Barcelona's first tapas-themed restaurant, has unveiled its new image with the same acclaim it received 17 years ago when it first opened. Tapa Tapa has been born anew to retain its claim as the place where Barcelona goes for tapas.

With the reopening of Tapa Tapa, the restaurant chain AN Grup has remained faithful to its policy of quality products and reasonable prices, making it the ideal spot to eat at any time. The new site features the perfect combination of wood, light, mirrors and product placement, turning it into a location with a special touch, complemented with original illustrations inspired in 1950s and 60s poster art.

It offers a selection of menus whose fun touch stands the locale apart. You see, it has broadened its culinary selection and added a semi-open kitchen perfect for "show-cooking" fresh products. They'll surprise you will new seafood tapas such as Alaska king crab, scallops with ham or paella parellada (with de-shelled molluscs).

And don't miss out on their highly imaginative signature tapas, like the courgette milhojas with goat's cheese or Brie with tofu. The new Tapa Tapa will also keep the Mediterranean's delicious traditional recipes going, such as patatas bravas, croquettes made from jamón ibérico de bellota or Teriyaki chicken brochette with sesame seeds.

An Grup, a company founded in 1995, has, since it began, started 13 restaurant franchises, whereby they currently manage 22 locations in the city of Barcelona.
