A history of sucess, quality and personality
Uruguayan Wines
The family Deicas led the company Juanico establishment with effort and constant desire for improvement, in a constant search for excellence in wine production. Three generations, ranging from its founder, Juan Carlos Deicas their children and grandchildren, they share an ideal: to achieve the perfect balance between tradition and innovation. The family, which owns all the shares of the company, is dedicated entirely to find the best course for the Establishment.
The land where it is located Juanico had different owners over the story, standing in its infancy Don Francisco Juanico, who in 1830 built a wine cellar to produce wines of high quality breaking with livestock tradition in the area. In 1979, going by their current owners, who with a new vision opened the doors to the world. New challenges were presented, to which were faced with new technologies, sustained investment and a big change in mindset.
Among the highlights moments of the family at front of the company is located the launch of Don Pascual line in 1996. In just five years took over the market, and is today the best-selling Uruguayan wine in the world. His name is a tribute to Don Pascual Harriague, Basque French who introduced the variety Tannat in Uruguay. Another milestone was in July 1998, when Juanico achieved its aim of becoming the first South American winery to win the demanding ISO 9001 quality certificate.
The Deicas maintain the tradition of being pioneers. The third generation of the family created in 2002 the first liquor Tannat from Uruguay, and is also the first to be baptized with the name of the family. The growth was confirmed with the acquisition of 3 new vineyards. In 2007 in Garzon, becoming pioneers in establishing a vineyard in the area, and in 2010 in Sierra Mohammed (San Jose) and El Carmen (Durazno). The latter two are in production.
Deicas family and Juanico are still looking to surprise their customers, producing in Uruguay the highest quality wines, with the constant desire for improvement that characterizes them.
